Karen Hasenauer says this photograph was from a tintype. She points out that the photo shows William Reuben Logan’s left leg has been amputated (as a result of his Civil War wound at the Battle of Resaca); however, the photo is a negative image. It is actually his right leg that was amputated. William R. Logan served as 2nd Lt., then Captain, of Co. G, Colonel Isaac Avery’s 4th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Cavalry from 1862-1864.
