Byas / Byars / Byers (etc.) notes: Tarrant County, Texas

Permelia Logan, daughter of William Logan and Joanna Cason Logan, was born in Edgefield District, South Carolina in either 1807 or 1809. She married Abram Landrus or Landus Byas in 1837 in Edgefield County.  Permelia Logan’s sister, Elizabeth Ann Logan, married Asa Harrell or Harold Byas, Abram L. Byas’ brother. Permelia Logan Byas died circa 1845 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. After Permelia’s death, Abram L. Byas married a widow, Mrs. Melvina Higginbotham Stevens, in Bienville Parish. The Byases moved to Tarrant County, Texas.

Byas, Thomas H. Byas, and William R. Byas. In 1870, the Richard Landus Byas family lived next to Abram L. Byas. Richard L. Byas is enumerated in the 1880 Tarrant County Federal agricultural census. Richard L. Byas later moved to Wise County, Texas.
