Jasper “Jap” Newton Logan, son of Hillary Logan and Abigail Wallace Logan, was born 27 April 1844 in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. (“Jap” was the common nickname for Jasper.) He married Laura Texanna Haggard. J.N. Logan served with Co. H, 10th Texas Infantry Regiment, Confederate States of America (C.S.A.). He was wounded three times: leg, thigh, lower abdomen. J.N. Logan died in 1918. His widow, Laura Texanna Haggard Logan, applied for a Texas Mortuary Warrant — a payment to bury J.N. Logan. Texanna Logan died 14 February 1928 in Johnson County, Texas. J.N. and Texanna Logan are buried at Buel Cemetery, Buel, Johnson County.
